Boston College medically disqualifies James Hendren

Boston College offensive lineman James Hendren announced Monday on Instagram that his football career has come to a premature end, as the school has forced him into medical retirement after he suffered too many concussions.
"It saddens me to say that as of today, my football playing days have come to an end," Hendren said in a statement accompanying the post. "I've been medically disqualified from playing football as a result of the number of concussions I've had, and the risk associated with continuing playing after those head injuries."
Hendren appeared in 11 games as a redshirt freshman last season, making two starts at right tackle.
