The Texas A&M quarterback problem appears to be solved, as former Oklahoma pivot Trevor Knight announced Monday he'll transfer to College Station.
The Aggies' quarterback depth chart was decimated in recent weeks as both Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray transferred out of the program. In a unique twist, Murray transferred to Oklahoma, so Knight's decision represents a trade of sorts.
"I am extremely excited for the opportunity that Coach Sumlin and his staff have afforded me and look forward to making my last year of eligibility a memorable one," Knight tweeted.
The Texas native is eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer after completing his degree last semester.
He burst onto the national scene in 2013, and was viewed by many as a possible Heisman candidate after a win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl that year. Following a disappointing 2014 campaign, Knight was replaced by Baker Mayfield this past season, and was demoted to the team's third-string option for the last two games.
