Braxton Miller is not only changing his position, but the number on his jersey as well.
As the Ohio State senior switches from quarterback to a hybrid wide receiver role, Miller plans to spend the season sporting No. 1 instead of his previous No. 5, according to ESPN's Austin Ward.
"It's a new beginning, a new start, and I felt like I needed to restart myself in the sense that I just needed a new change," Miller told ESPN on Monday.
"There's a change in myself, I'm changing positions, changing what my future is and things like that. I just want a new beginning and a new era for myself."
The Buckeyes' quarterback battle was one of the most talked about pre-camp topics, with Ohio State originally having an option of three stellar quarterbacks: Cardale Jones, who led the team to a national championship, J.T. Barrett, who helped his team to earn the Big Ten Championship, and Miller, the veteran who had proven himself time and time again.
Then Miller threw a wrench in preseason camp storylines by announcing his move to H-Back, allowing him to capitalize on his speed and strength while he regains throwing motion after two shoulder surgeries.
