Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman has been named the winner of the 2014 Broyles Award, which recognizes college football's top assistant coach.
Herman helped carry the Buckeyes to a 12-1 record en route to a No. 4 ranking this season.
He began his career as a wide receivers coach at Texas Lutheran in 1998. From there he's spent time at Texas, Rice and Iowa State before being named Ohio State's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2012.
This season, the Buckeyes have been predominantly known as the team possessing three quarterbacks - Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones - who have shown they're capable of succeeding in a starter role.
