Auburn's Nick Marshall will not start season opener

Nick Marshall won't miss too many snaps for the defending SEC champion Auburn Tigers, but he will miss the first.
Head coach Gus Malzahn announced after Auburn's first practice of training camp Friday that Marshall will play in Auburn's season opener against Arkansas, but won't start.
"Nick is still our starting quarterback," Malzahn said via Joel A. Erickson of AL.com.
The senior paid $1,100 in fines after being cited for marijuana possession in his native Georgia last month, and appears to have also avoided significant disciplinary action from the program.
