Former assistant coach, Mike McQueary, revealed to Penn State players that he was a victim of sexual abuse as a child, sources told ESPN The Magazine

McQueary confided to the players during a private meeting with the team's receivers. The former assistant is considered as an important prosecution witness in the forthcoming conspiracy trial of former Penn State officials Graham Spanier, Tim Curley, and Gary Schultz.

It's unknown if McQueary was abused, the sources claimed that he only told players "he was a victim of abuse," nor did he state how long the alleged abuse took place.

McQueary informed the players of his former abuse on Nov. 9, 2011, only a short period of time after he was being criticized for not stopping Jerry Sandusky for allegedly sexually harassing a boy in 2001.

Despite being profiled by ESPN The Magazine, McQueary declined to comment on the story, but expressed his loyalty to former Nittany Lions' head coach Joe Paterno.

"I love that man more than you can ever possibly say. He's an unbelievable man. He did unbelievable things. He handled this thing in the best way he could. was it foolproof or perfect? No. But i didn't handle this in a foolproof or perfect way either. I am loyal to him to this day. I absolutely love him," McQueary said.
