Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding said he expects running back Kewan Lacy to return for Saturday's game against Vanderbilt, according to ESPN.
Lacy missed the Rebels' 52-28 loss to Florida on Sept. 26 due to an undisclosed injury he sustained in Ole Miss' victory over LSU the week prior. The star tailback was able to rest during the team's bye last week.
"Obviously (Lacy) rested all last week," Golding said, according to ESPN. "Was good for a solid week, not practicing. Practiced last night, came back. Did individual, did some team sessions. A lot of that was noncontact last week. Fully anticipate having him this week."
Golding said Ole Miss will likely use a committee approach at running back instead of giving Lacy a heavy workload right away.
"That's going to be a constant rotation based on how (Lacy) is, and how healthy he is," Golding said. "But even coming back, he's not going to take the toll of 40 or 50 snaps and all those things."
JT Lindsey and Makhi Frazier split carries with Lacy sidelined. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss led the Rebels with 44 rushing yards against Florida.
Lacy leads the Rebels with 191 yards and four touchdowns. He sustained a bone bruise in Ole Miss' season-opening win over Louisville but was able to play against Charlotte the following week.
