Louisville agreed to a contract extension with head coach Jeff Brohm through the 2033 season, the school announced Thursday.

The new agreement is worth $64.6 million plus incentives, according to WDRB's Eric Crawford.

"This extension reflects the dedication and commitment of our players and staff," Brohm said. "We've made meaningful progress the past three seasons, and we look forward to continuing to pursue higher goals."

Brohm, who turns 55 on Friday, was previously under contract through the 2030 season, earning a $6-million annual salary, Sports Illustrated's Pat Forde reports. He returned to his alma mater in December 2022 after Cincinnati hired Scott Saterfield. Brohm guided Louisville to a 10-4 mark in 2023, which included a win over Notre Dame and an appearance in the ACC Championship Game.

The Cardinals have secured at least nine wins in each of Brohm's campaigns. Louisville capped its second consecutive 9-4 season with a 27-22 win over Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl in 2025.

Previous reports suggested that Brohm and the school had reached an impasse in negotiations this past winter.

However, Louisville athletic director Josh Heird stated earlier in April that the two sides maintain strong communication, saying, "I think that's a testament to our relationship, is that we can have candid conversations and move past them," per Crawford.
