Ohio State star receiver Jeremiah Smith is vowing that he won't lose another game to rival Michigan.

The Wolverines bested Ohio State in each of their past four meetings, including a 13-10 victory in their most recent matchup despite Smith's five catches for 35 yards and a touchdown.

"I'm not a sore loser, but I hate losing, and losing to that team up north was pretty crazy," Smith told The Athletic's Manny Navarro. "In the end, I think it really helped us play the way we did in the playoffs. But I didn't want to go to Ohio State and lose to that team up north.

"I just hate them. Just something about them. For the next two years, I promise you, I will not lose to them. I can't lose to them in the next two years."

While the Buckeyes couldn't defeat their top rival, they were able to rally afterward, notching four wins to capture the College Football Playoff National Championship in the first year of the expanded 12-team format.

Smith emerged as one of the most talented wideouts in the country in 2024. He recorded 76 receptions for 1,315 yards, and 15 touchdowns as a freshman last year.

"Just because I had one great year, I can't get comfortable and depend on that. I want to do this year in and year out," Smith said.

Ohio State will open the season against Texas on Aug. 30. The Buckeyes will attempt to halt their losing streak to the Wolverines when they meet Nov. 29.
