Report: Boise State's Danielson inks 5-year extension
Boise State finalized a five-year contract extension for head coach Spencer Danielson, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Danielson's new agreement will double his average annual salary to $2.2 million, Thamel reports. The total value of the deal will reportedly see him earn close to $11 million over five years.
Danielson, 36, led the Broncos to a 12-2 record in his first full season as head coach in 2024 and the program's first berth in the College Football Playoff. He also secured a Mountain West championship and a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Penn State.
Boise State went undefeated in conference play behind the duo of running back Ashton Jeanty and quarterback Maddux Madsen.
Danielson was named the 12th head coach in Boise State's history in December 2023 after serving as the program's interim coach following the firing of Andy Avalos. He owns a 15-3 record since becoming the sideline boss.
