Purdue hired UNLV's Barry Odom as its next head coach, the team announced Sunday.
Odom has been the Rebels' head boss for the last two seasons, posting a 19-8 record. He served as Missouri's head coach from 2016-19 and spent time on Arkansas' coaching staff from 2020-22.
Purdue fired Ryan Walters last week after a 5-19 record across two seasons. The Boilermakers went 1-11 this year and 0-9 in Big Ten play. Six of Purdue's losses came by 35-plus points.
Odom helped UNLV go 10-3 this season while landing a spot in the Mountain West title game, which they lost 21-7 to Boise State on Friday. The Rebels finished top-35 in points per game and points per contest allowed this season.
