Mack Brown plans to return as North Carolina coach in 2025
North Carolina head coach Mack Brown said he intends to return in 2025, according to ESPN's Andrea Adelson.
However, Brown added that he hasn't talked to athletic director Bubba Cunningham about it yet.
"You never talk to your athletic director until the year's over," Brown told media. "Everybody always does that. My total focus is on NC State. What an awful thing to be talking about me when we just played a bad game and need to beat State."
Brown reportedly recently informed his coaching staff and players of his desire to return.
The 73-year-old has the Tar Heels in the midst of a 6-5 campaign. Brown began his second stint as North Carolina's head coach in 2019 after previously leading the program from 1988-1997. He has a combined 113-78-1 record with the Tar Heels.
