Utah's Rising sustains hand injury vs. Baylor
Utah quarterback Cam Rising injured his right hand in the first half of Saturday's game against Baylor.
Rising collided with the water coolers on the sideline late in the second quarter and subsequently went to the locker room. He wasn't on the field to start the back half of the contest and, according to Porter Larsen of ESPN 700, will undergo X-rays.
Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham told reporters postgame that Rising's injury isn't serious and that he may be back in the lineup as soon as next week, according to 247 Sports' Matt Zenitz.
Before exiting the matchup, Rising completed 8 of 14 pass attempts for 92 yards and two touchdowns to help Utah build a 23-3 first-half lead.
Isaac Wilson - the younger brother of former BYU star and NFL quarterback Zach Wilson - entered the game at quarterback for the Utes.
