Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is calling on the NCAA to get involved after several of his players said their jewelry was stolen from the locker room during Saturday's loss to UCLA.
Sanders said he hopes players will be reimbursed for the missing items.
"Our kids got robbed during the game last week. I think that's a travesty," he said Tuesday, according to 9News. "I would expect the NCAA to do something about that.
"These are college kids, I'm pretty sure they don't think about insurance at this point and this juncture in their life. We've talked about NILs and how to really maintain their finances. We've pretty much given them financial planners and given them the resources for that, but the insurance part of it, we slipped, and we didn't really educate them on that."
Sanders added that he heard UCLA players were also robbed, and he plans to have his team make a list of the stolen items.
"All that stuff should be replaced," he said. "This is the Rose Bowl, this is at the granddaddy of them all, right? I'm sure granddaddy had some money."
The UCLA athletic department confirmed Monday that a police investigation into the incident was underway.
