Georgia tight end Brock Bowers left Saturday's 37-20 win against Vanderbilt due to a sprained ankle, head coach Kirby Smart said, per The Athletic's David Ubben.
Smart said initial X-rays were negative and that the injury is believed to be a lower ankle sprain, but the exact extent of Bowers' ailment is to be determined, according to The Athletic's Seth Emerson.
Bowers appeared to sustain the injury after taking a handoff from quarterback Carson Beck for a 14-yard gain in the second quarter. The junior had trouble getting to his feet, sporting a limp before taking a knee and punching the ground in frustration.

He was taken to the team's medical tent before hobbling back to the locker room with assistance from a team staffer. Bowers appeared to be favoring his left leg as he left the field. He didn't return to the game in the second half.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder recorded four receptions for 22 yards to go along with 11 rushing yards prior to exiting.
Bowers is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and is a premier talent at tight end at the collegiate level. The California native entered Saturday leading all Georgia pass-catchers with 37 catches for 545 yards and four touchdowns.
