Sapp wants to join Deion's coaching staff at Colorado

Deion Sanders could be adding a Pro Football Hall of Famer to his coaching staff next season.

Former NFL defensive lineman Warren Sapp revealed Tuesday on "The Rich Eisen Show" that he's working on getting his college degree in the hopes of joining Sanders' staff in 2024.

"I wanna be there next year," Sapp said. "I'm gonna get everything, the paperwork, and I'm gonna go to work ... Sapp's gonna go get this degree and then we'll go out and teach these kids these five steps to the quarterback. Because I know something about this game - when you have a quarterback like Shedeur (Sanders) and if my D-line will go hunt the quarterback, our chances of winning just went through the roof."

Sanders appears to into the idea of hiring Sapp, as he told Eisen on Friday's show that he thinks the 50-year-old will be on his Colorado staff at some point.

Sapp has never held an official coaching position at the college or NFL level, but he did attend the Washington Commanders' minicamp the last two years and provided guidance to the team's defensive line.

Sanders is in his first season at Colorado after spending the previous three years at Jackson State. His Buffaloes are 3-0 so far this season.
