Florida added five-star defensive end Jamonta Waller to its 2024 class on Monday.

Waller, a Mississippi native, is the third-best defensive end and No. 16 overall recruit of his class in the ESPN 300.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pounder chose the Gators over Auburn and Penn State.

"The people," Waller said of what impacted his decision, according to Hayes Fawcett of On 3. "It just felt like home both times I went to Gainesville. They made me feel like a priority."

He added: "I realized I wanted to be a Florida Gator at 4 a.m. last night; that's when I knew it was home. So I woke up this morning and called coach Billy (Napier)."

Waller is the second 2024 five-star recruit to join the Gators after top dual-threat quarterback DJ Lagway. Florida's 2024 class now features six top-100 prospects.
