Lane Kiffin's new contract with Ole Miss is expected to be for at least eight years, sources told Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger.

The pact will also be worth $9 million per season, Dellenger adds.

Kiffin told ESPN's Chris Low on Saturday that he'll sign an extension with Ole Miss. He said he told the team he was staying prior to Thursday's Egg Bowl game against Mississippi State but didn't want to announce it until after the contest, which he did following the Rebels' loss.

The Ole Miss sideline boss had been heavily linked to Auburn's head coaching vacancy alongside Liberty's Hugh Freeze. Kiffin repeatedly denied rumors that he'd be joining Auburn.

Kiffin's deal will be run through Ole Miss' private foundation in order to bypass Mississippi prohibiting public contracts of longer than four years, Dellenger adds.

Ole Miss hired Kiffin following the 2019 season. He's accumulated a 23-12 record over his three seasons.

Kiffin followed up his 10-win 2021 campaign with an 8-4 showing this season. The Rebels started the year 7-0 before dropping four of their last five.
