Quarterback Jayden Daniels started for LSU in Sunday's 24-23 loss to Florida State.
Daniels completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 209 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the team with 114 rushing yards on 16 carries.
Daniels transferred to the Tigers in March after three seasons starting for Arizona State. He battled redshirt freshman Garrett Nussmeier for LSU's starting job.
Tigers head coach Brian Kelly said he wanted to keep his plan at quarterback - the first major decision of his tenure in Baton Rouge - a secret until game time to create a tactical advantage, according to LSU reporter Shea Dixon.
"It doesn't help us to play that card," Kelly said.
Daniels is a dual-threat quarterback, while Nussmeier is more of a traditional pocket passer.
In his final season at Arizona State, Daniels racked up 2,380 passing yards, 710 rushing yards, and 16 total touchdowns.
Nussmeier appeared in four games for LSU last season, completing 29 of 57 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns against two interceptions.
