5-star OLB Harold Perkins commits to LSU
Brian Kelly and LSU landed one of the biggest commitments of the 2022 cycle Wednesday, as five-star linebacker Harold Perkins announced on CBS Sports HQ that he'll play college football for the Tigers.
ESPN ranked Perkins as the top outside linebacker and the No. 4 overall prospect for the Class of 2022. He initially committed to Texas A&M in early January but decommitted shortly after and reopened his recruitment.
After taking official visits to Baton Rouge and Florida, Perkins finalized his list to LSU, Texas A&M, and the Gators heading into Wednesday's announcement.
Perkins' commitment turned the mood around Signing Day from negative to positive for Kelly and LSU after losing out on local standouts TreVonte' Citizen and Danny Lewis.
Kelly can still make further strides in his first LSU recruiting class, with highly-touted safety Jacoby Mathews considering the Tigers.
