Another starting quarterback is looking for a new team in college football.

Casey Thompson has entered the transfer portal after three seasons at Texas, a school spokesperson told Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman.

"We just feel it's in his best interest to seek something else," Thompson's father Charles told Davis.

Thompson's decision comes just days after two quarterbacks joined the Longhorns: Ohio State transfer Quinn Ewers and 2022 four-star recruit Maalik Murphy.

Thompson began 2021 as the No. 2 signal-caller behind Hudson Card, but he took over the starting role before the third game of the season against Rice. He finished this year with a 63.2% completion rate while tossing 2,113 yards and a Big 12-high 24 touchdowns against nine interceptions in 12 appearances. He also found the end zone four times on the ground.
