Auburn quarterback Bo Nix will undergo surgery Monday after suffering an ankle injury during Saturday's 43-34 loss to Mississippi State, sources told 247 Sports' Phillip Marshall.

Nix won't be available to play the Tigers' final two games of the season against South Carolina and No. 2 Alabama.

The junior passer appeared to confirm the news on Sunday.

"Bones break and things change, but God is always the same. ... The road to recovery begins tomorrow. Thanks, everyone for the thoughts and prayers!" he wrote.

Nix completed 61% of his passes while tossing 11 touchdowns against three interceptions through 10 appearances this year.

TJ Finley, who transferred to Auburn this year after spending 2020 at LSU, is in line to become the Tigers' starter for the remainder of the season. Finley replaced Nix on Auburn's final offensive drive versus Mississippi State.

The 6-4 Tigers face South Carolina on Saturday.
