Five-star wide receiver Luther Burden has committed to Missouri, he told Hayes Fawcett of On3 Recruits.

The Illinois native is the highest-ranked wideout in 2022 and the eighth-best overall recruit on the ESPN 300. He'd previously committed to Oklahoma but decommitted from the Sooners in August.

Burden received offers from several schools, including Alabama and Georgia. The Bulldogs were considered one of the favorites to land the pass-catcher, along with the Tigers.

"All these schools have been a great experience for me, and this has been the most difficult decision of my life," Burden said, according to Allen Trieu of 247Sports. "I chose Mizzou because I want to be the first - big recruits in St. Louis go to places like Georgia and Alabama, and I want to stay home and take our talents to Missouri."

Four-star quarterback Sam Horn, who's also committed to the Tigers' 2022 class, reacted to the news on Twitter:

Burden is only the fourth five-star recruit to join Missouri in the modern recruiting era after Sheldon Richardson (2009), Dorial Green-Beckham (2012), and Terry Beckner Jr. (2015), according to The Athletic.

The Tigers have now landed seven recruits ranked on ESPN 300.
