Notre Dame offensive tackle Blake Fisher is set to miss eight weeks after undergoing meniscus surgery Thursday, head coach Brian Kelly said, according to Pete Sampson of The Athletic.

Fisher suffered the injury in his first career start after a Florida State defender fell on him in the second quarter. In Fisher's absence, Notre Dame finished with 65 rushing yards, while quarterback Jack Coan was sacked four times.

The left tackle became the first freshman offensive lineman to start for Notre Dame in 15 years. Fisher was also the highest-ranked offensive line commit for the Irish since Tommy Kraemer in 2016.
