Oklahoma is eyeing Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury as a potential replacement for the departing Lincoln Riley, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Sooners are expected to be on the lookout for a new head coach following Sunday's shocking report that Riley will leave for USC's head coaching gig.

Kingsbury has just one year remaining on his NFL contract following this season, Schefter adds. The 42-year-old is in the midst of an impressive 9-2 campaign with the Cardinals. He's led Arizona to a 22-20-1 record over two-plus years.

Kingsbury made the leap to the NFL after spending six seasons as Texas Tech's head coach from 2013 to 2018. The Red Raiders only went 35-40 under Kingsbury, though the coach gained recognition for his work on the offensive side of the ball.

Oklahoma has won the last six Big 12 conference titles, including four under Riley.
