Report: Joe Milton transferring to Tennessee
Former Michigan quarterback Joe Milton has found a new home.
Milton plans to join Tennessee and will formally commit to the Volunteers at the end of the month, sources told Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.
The six-foot-five, 243-pound passer previously announced he was entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer in February. Milton is expected to graduate from Michigan next month, according to MLive.com's Aaron McMann.
Milton started five games for the Wolverines last season, passing for 1,077 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions in 2020. The 21-year-old appeared in 14 games through three seasons with Michigan.
Tennessee adds much-needed depth to its quarterback room with Milton’s addition. The Volunteers lost previous starters Jarrett Guarantano and J.T. Shrout to the transfer portal.
Milton will compete with Virginia Tech transfer Hendon Hooker, Brian Maurer, Harrison Bailey, and Kaidon Salter for a starting opportunity in 2021.
