Sam Ehlinger's possible final game at Texas ended prematurely.
The Longhorns quarterback was unable to play in the second half of Tuesday's Valero Alamo Bowl against Colorado due to a shoulder injury.
Ehlinger went 10-for-16 passing for 160 yards and one touchdown before being sidelined. Sophomore Casey Thompson started the second half under center, and he would go on to finish the blowout win with 170 yards and four scores.

Ehlinger entered the bowl game completing just over 60% of his pass attempts for 25 touchdowns against five interceptions through nine games this season. He also added eight scores on the ground.
The 22-year-old has yet to announce whether he'll declare for the NFL draft this offseason.
