Temple will be facing an unknown number of absences against East Carolina due to contact tracing after a player and his girlfriend tested positive for COVID-19 shortly before kickoff, Stadium's Brett McMurphy reports.
The Owls player was forced to return to campus for more testing after his girlfriend returned a positive result, McMurphy adds.
The game was then put on hold as the teams awaited the player's test result, which turned out to be positive.
While the game was once thought to be in jeopardy, the contest was delayed to 12:50 p.m. ET.
