Louisville running back Javian Hawkins, receiver Tutu Atwell, and five others will not play in Saturday's game against Virginia.

The starting tandem as well as defensive linemen Yaya Diaby, Derek Dorsey, and Tabarius Peterson, defensive back Chandler Jones, and running back Hassan Hall were listed on the team's unavailability report, according to ESPN's Andrea Adelson.

A reason for the absences was not given.

Louisville had to pause all football activities last week after a spike in positive COVID-19 tests within the program. As a result, the game against Virginia was rescheduled to this Saturday.

Hawkins is the Cardinals' leading rusher with 822 yards and seven touchdowns and Atwell leads the team in receiving with 40 grabs for 528 yards and five scores.
