Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ankle injury versus Tennessee on Saturday, head coach Nick Saban told CBS Sports, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com.

"He's out for the year," Saban explained to CBS's Jamie Erdahl. "It's a shame because the guy is a great player. It's exciting to see a guy play like that. I hate that he gets hurt on a play like that."

Waddle entered the day with 25 receptions for 557 yards and four touchdowns. The star wideout caught 33 receptions for 560 yards and six touchdowns in 2019.

The Crimson Tide will lean more heavily on receivers Devonta Smith, John Metchie, and Slade Bolden in Waddle's absence.
