Tua Tagovailoa is expected to play in Alabama's huge SEC battle against LSU Saturday, sources told Matt Zenitz of AL.com.

It's expected Tagovailoa will look healthier and less limited than what most outsiders expect, the sources added.

The signal-caller underwent surgery to repair the high ankle sprain he suffered against Tennessee 16 days ago. He had the same surgery last year and returned to action after 27 days to face Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl.

This year, the recovery process has been even faster, sources told Zenitz.

Despite the optimistic reports, the Crimson Tide are expected to label Tagovailoa a game-time decision.

Alabama lined up without Tua just once since the injury, beating Arkansas 48-7. Sophomore Mac Jones completed 18-of-22 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
