With three weeks remaining in the regular season, college football's brightest stars have limited time to make their cases for the Heisman Trophy.
Running backs Jonathan Taylor and Travis Etienne can't be ruled out, but it's shaping up to be another quarterback-heavy group of finalists.
Here are the top five Heisman candidates as we enter the home stretch.
5. Dwayne Haskins, QB - Ohio State

Once among the favorites, Haskins is in danger of falling out of the race after back-to-back subpar outings. The Buckeyes pivot was inconsistent as Ohio State struggled, tossing two touchdowns and one interception against Nebraska. His overall numbers remain among the nation's best, but the redshirt sophomore hasn't looked as good against Big Ten teams that aren't Indiana or Minnesota (which own a combined 2-10 record in conference play).
4. Will Grier, QB - West Virginia

After an up-and-down October, Grier re-entered the Heisman conversation by leading a thrilling victory over Texas. The senior accumulated 346 yards and three touchdowns while scoring the game-winning two-point conversion. Grier has the Mountaineers in prime position to earn a berth in the Big 12 championship game. They could pose a real threat to favorite Oklahoma - and the gunslinger could reclaim a top-three spot on our list.
3. Gardner Minshew, QB - Washington State

The year of Minshew continued Saturday at Martin Stadium, where the Washington State signal-caller kept the Cougars rolling with a 19-13 victory over Cal. While not his most productive effort, the senior completed 35-of-51 passes for 334 yards with a touchdown and an interception en route to his fifth straight win. The East Carolina transfer leads the nation with 3,517 passing yards and ranks fifth with a 70.8 completion percentage. Washington State needs some help to get there, but don't rule the Cougars out of the College Football Playoff just yet.
2. Kyler Murray, QB - Oklahoma

Murray was his usual dominant self in another shootout victory for Oklahoma, this time over Texas Tech. The redshirt junior totaled four touchdowns and 360 passing yards. No Big 12 squad can stop him. It's just too bad that we'll only get a few more games from the quarterback before he likely pursues a pro baseball career. There may not be a more dynamic playmaker in college football.
1. Tua Tagovailoa, QB - Alabama

Even at less than 100 percent, the Crimson Tide passer has proven to be unstoppable in 2018, and he's running away with the Heisman. Against a top-tier SEC defense in LSU, Tagovailoa tallied three touchdowns and 344 yards (295 passing, 49 rushing). The sophomore threw his first interception of the season against the Tigers, but he has 30 total touchdowns and the nation's No. 1 offense to pad his resume.
