The Heisman Trophy race has taken full shape as the college football season enters its final month of regular-season action. Let's check out the top candidates jockeying for position:

5. Josh Allen, LB - Kentucky

Allen picked up a pair of strip sacks Saturday, helping Kentucky sneak past Missouri for its seventh win of the season. It was the senior's second straight multi-sack performance, bringing his total to 10 for the campaign, which ranks second in the nation. Allen also had a season-high 11 tackles versus the Tigers. He's a massive reason why the Wildcats are up to No. 11 in the AP Poll.

4. Dwayne Haskins, QB - Ohio State

Ohio State's dud to Purdue two weeks ago ruffled Haskins' stock slightly, although he did finish with 470 yards and two touchdowns passing in the losing effort. Haskins' numbers for the season are still among the best in the country, as the sophomore has 2,801 yards, 30 touchdowns, and five picks through eight games.

3. Gardner Minshew, QB - Washington State

Don't look now, but here comes the gunslinger from Washington State. Minshew tossed for another 438 yards and three scores in the Cougars' win over Stanford, completing an astounding 40 of 50 pass attempts. He leads the FBS with 3,183 passing yards and figures to continue posting gaudy numbers in Mike Leach's spread offense. As long as 7-1 Washington State keeps surging, Minshew's Heisman stock will follow.

2. Kyler Murray, QB - Oklahoma

Murray put on another aerial show in Oklahoma's blowout win over Kansas State, throwing for 352 yards and three touchdowns. Each week, the electrifying Murray leaves the nation wondering what it would take for him to spurn the Oakland Athletics and put professional baseball on the back-burner in order to continue his football career.

1. Tua Tagovailoa, QB - Alabama

Tagovailoa was on a bye in Week 9 but don't let that distract you from the fact that he's thrown 25 touchdowns and zero interceptions, and is the leader of the undisputed No. 1 team in the nation. It'll take either a Herculean effort from another member of the pack or an unforeseen collapse from the Alabama pivot for him to be overtaken as the Heisman Trophy favorite.
