The 1937 Heisman Trophy awarded to former Yale halfback Clint Frank is up for auction, and it could fetch a record price.

The trophy remained with Frank's family after he died in 1992 at the age of 76, but his daughter, Laurie Dorsey, told The Associated Press that she and her siblings have decided to part ways with it.

"It's difficult to share because we all live in different cities and states," Dorsey said. "We became kind of the caretakers for it. We kept it safe in a bank vault. Now we would like to see it go to someone who really loves football and appreciates the Heisman and can enjoy it."

Experts told TMZ Sports the trophy is expected to sell for over $400,000, which would be the highest price ever paid for a Heisman at auction. Rashaan Salaam's 1994 Heisman sold for a record $399,608 in January.

Other Heismans sold at auction include Bruce P. Smith's 1941 trophy, which fetched $395,240 in 2005, and O.J. Simpson's 1968 trophy, which sold for $255,000 in 1999.
