Receiving a suspension from your college football coach must sting pretty bad, but to have that head coach also be your father, well, that's some kind of bind.
That's the exact situation Old Dominion's Derek Wilder finds himself in, as the junior linebacker is facing charges of eluding police and reckless driving after a May 18 motorcycle incident, according to Anthony Sabella of WTKR.com, citing court records.
Police reports state that Wilder failed to stop when requested and later crashed into a guardrail, resulting in him being thrown from the bike.
Wilder is the son of Monarchs head coach Bobby Wilder, who suspended his son indefinitely from the team following the incident.
Former Old Dominion cornerback Aquante Thornton was also involved in the incident with Wilder, and was also charged with eluding police and reckless driving.
