Report: USC sells naming rights for L.A. Coliseum to United Airlines
USC is selling the naming rights of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to United Airlines, sources told Michael Smith and John Ourand of Sports Business Daily.
Though not yet signed, the agreement is worth more than $70 million over 15 years and would be a record for college football, according Smith and Ourand. The previous mark was a 10-year, $41-million deal for Husky Stadium at the University of Washington with Alaska Airlines.
It remains to be seen how the United Airlines name will be used. For instance, in the Washington agreement the stadium kept its name while the field was re-branded Alaska Airlines Field.
The deal is in partnership with Fox Sports and the Coliseum is currently in renovations that are scheduled to be completed in time for the Trojans' 2019 campaign.
