Georgia running back Elijah Holyfield, son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield, was arrested early Monday on misdemeanor drug charges.
According to a Clarke County Jail booking report obtained by Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald, the sophomore was hit with charges of marijuana possession and use of drug-related objects.
Holyfield saw limited time last season with the Bulldogs, rushing for 29 yards on just six carries, but played a much larger role in Georgia's spring game last week. He ran the ball 15 times for 41 yards and a touchdown in the annual contest.
The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder was a four-star recruit in Georgia's 2016 class, ranking as the 183rd overall prospect on the ESPN 300.
