Texas A&M can now claim they've had a first overall pick after the Cleveland Browns selected defensive end Myles Garrett at the 2017 NFL Draft.
Previously, the Aggies had players selected second overall three times:
| Year | Position | Player | Team |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2013 | OT | Luke Joeckel | Jaguars |
| 2011 | LB | Von Miller | Broncos |
| 1992 | LB | Quentin Coryatt | Colts |
The edge rusher recorded 48.5 tackles for loss, with 32.5 sacks, in his three seasons in College Station.
