It's Throwback Tuesday, everybody.
On this date 30 years ago (Nov. 22, 1986), a young Jim Harbaugh - then the senior starting quarterback for Michigan - fulfilled his guarantee to lead the sixth-ranked Wolverines to victory over No. 7 Ohio State at Ohio Stadium.
"We're going to play in the Rose Bowl this year," the confident Harbaugh said in the days leading up to the game. "I guarantee it. We'll beat Ohio State and be in Pasadena on Jan. 1."
Harbaugh went on to throw for 261 yards, leading Michigan to a narrow 26-24 win over the Buckeyes. Michigan eventually lost to Arizona State in the Rose Bowl.
Harbaugh, now the head coach at his alma mater, is set to return to "the Shoe" in a competitive role Saturday, for the first time since the 1986 triumph.
