For the first time since 1985, Villanova is on top of the college basketball world.
The Wildcats capped off an instant-classic title game with a Kris Jenkins 3-pointer at the buzzer, completing their run to supremacy in incredible fashion.
Villanova started as a No. 2 seed in the East Region, and after finally exorcising its second-round demons, Jay Wright and company ended their trip to Houston by cutting down the nets.
First up was Jenkins, who hit the biggest shot of his life to seal the deal.
Wildcats' head coach Jay Wright was next up, earning his first championship one day after winning the Naismith Coach of the Year award.
Super senior Ryan Arcidiacono was next to climb to the top. "Arch" was instrumental in the Wildcats' second-half performance, earning himself MOP honors and capping his marvelous collegiate career as a champion.
Josh Hart also got his chance at a souvenir. The junior guard scored 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the victory.
Last up was senior forward Daniel Ochefu, who anchored the Wildcats' frontcourt all season long, and walks away from his college career with a new necklace.
