Five-star recruit Reese Alston is committing to LSU, he announced Thursday on CBS Sports.
The 6-foot-1 point guard is ranked No. 13 in the class of 2027, per ESPN.
Alston, a Houston native, selected LSU over finalists Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, and Wichita State. He's the son of former NBA guard Rafer Alston, who played for six franchises over 11 years after initially gaining recognition as a streetballer, where he picked up the nickname "Skip 2 My Lou."
The Tigers' 2027 class is now expected to boast one of the most highly regarded freshmen backcourts in the country. No. 14-ranked prospect King Gibson, a 6-foot-5 wing out of Spire Academy who's also a five-star prospect, committed to LSU earlier in October. Alston and Gibson are joined by four-star recruit and 6-foot-7 forward Ahmad Hudson in next year's class.
