Iowa is finalizing a new six-year contract with head coach Ben McCollum, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel and Jeff Borzello.
Last season, McCollum led the Hawkeyes to the Elite Eight in his first year with the program. Their March Madness run included upset wins over No. 1 seed Florida and Nebraska.
The 45-year-old had been attached to multiple high-profile job openings, including North Carolina's. However, McCollum previously insisted that he intended to remain at Iowa.
"Yeah, those are all lies," McCollum said in March when asked about being linked to other schools, per ESPN's Myron Medcalf. "The only person that would ever know would be ... my athletic director, my wife, and that's about it."
McCollum guided the Hawkeyes to a 24-13 record last season. He led Drake to the second round of the NCAA Tournament the prior season.
