Kansas' Self released from hospital after heart procedure
Kansas head coach Bill Self was hospitalized Thursday after experiencing "some concerning symptoms," the school announced in a statement obtained by CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.
Self underwent a heart procedure to insert two stents and is expected to make a full recovery.
The 62-year-old was released from the hospital Saturday.
"I want to thank all the amazing doctors and nurses at LMH Health for the excellent care I received during my stay there," Self said in a statement, per Rothstein. "I feel strong and am excited to be home. Our team has had a productive summer and look forward to our batteries being recharged and prepping for this upcoming season."
Self missed the 2023 Big 12 and NCAA Tournament due to a heart condition.
The Hall of Famer has spent the last 22 years with the Jayhawks, posting a 624-156 record and guiding the program to a pair of national championships.
Kansas inked Self to a lifetime contract extension in 2021.
