Former Oral Roberts star Max Abmas is transferring to Texas, he announced Thursday.

Abmas spent the past four seasons with the Golden Eagles, where he developed into one of the nation's top scorers. The 6-foot-1 guard has averaged 20.8 points and shot 38.8% from deep over his collegiate career.

Abmas captured the NCAA scoring title and famously led 15-seed Oral Roberts to the Sweet 16 in the 2020-21 campaign.

The two-time Summit League Player of the Year should immediately step into the Longhorns' starting lineup following the departure of point guard Marcus Carr.

Texas also recently added big man Kadin Shedrick from Virginia, while breakout NCAA Tournament star Dylan Disu opted to return for a fifth year.

The Longhorns won last season's Big 12 Tournament and went on to reach its first Elite Eight since 2008.
