Purdue center Zach Edey won the Wooden Award on Tuesday as the most outstanding player in men's college basketball.
Edey became the sixth player over the last seven years to sweep all six of the Player of the Year awards. He previously claimed awards from The Associated Press, Sporting News, the United States Basketball Writers Association, the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and the Naismith Trophy.
The other finalists for the award included Indiana's Trayce Jackson-Davis, Houston's Marcus Sasser, Gonzaga's Drew Timme, and Kansas's Jalen Wilson.
Edey averaged 22.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in his junior season to lead the Boilermakers to their second-ever Big Ten championship and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Purdue suffered an upset loss in the first round to No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson.
The Canadian center is the second Boilermaker to win a Wooden Award after Glenn Robinson did so in 1994.
