Duke guard Trevor Keels is staying in the NBA draft and renouncing his remaining college eligibility, a source told ESPN's Jonathan Givony.
Keels announced last month that he was testing the draft waters, but he had until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday to withdraw. The 18-year-old is a projected first-round pick and among four key Blue Devils eligible for selection later this month.
Keels was a McDonald's All-American and the 2020-21 Gatorade Player of the Year in high school. The five-star prospect arrived in Durham last year as part of a loaded recruiting class that featured potential top-three pick Paolo Banchero and likely lottery selection A.J. Griffin.
Keels averaged 11.5 points, 3.4 boards, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 steals during his lone season at Duke. He started 26 games and was an ACC All-Rookie team selection.
