Texas Tech lands 5-star Canadian Elijah Fisher
Top-ranked Canadian recruit and 5-star prospect Elijah Fisher has committed to Texas Tech, he announced on Sportsnet's Tim and Friends.
Fisher will reclassify from the 2023 class so he can suit up for the Red Raiders next season.
The 6-foot-6 wing chose Texas Tech over Memphis, Louisville, and Kentucky, and he will join a program that has made four straight NCAA Tournaments, including three finishes in the Sweet Sixteen or better.
An athletic forward known for his thunderous dunks and burgeoning offensive repertoire, Fisher made headways earlier this season after scoring 75 points in a high school game.
With Texas Tech head coach Mark Adams preaching a defense-first approach, Fisher will have the opportunity to round out his game in hopes of being selected in the 2023 NBA draft.
Fellow Canadian Fardaws Aimaq, a Utah Valley transfer who recently withdrew from the draft process to play for the Red Raiders, will join Fisher in 2022-23.
