Wisconsin sophomore Johnny Davis will forgo his remaining NCAA eligibility and enter the 2022 NBA Draft, he announced on ESPN's "NBA Today" on Thursday.
The 6-foot-5 guard is coming off a breakout season for Greg Gard's Badgers brigade. The La Crosse, Wisconsin, native started all 31 of his appearances after exclusively coming off the bench as a freshman, averaging 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 2021-22.
For his efforts, Davis earned the Big Ten Player of the Year Award and became a consensus first-team All-American.
Now, the potential lottery pick could become the highest-drafted Badgers player since Frank Kaminsky, the No. 9 pick in 2015, or perhaps even former All-Star Devin Harris, the fifth overall pick in 2004.
Although Wisconsin didn't move past the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the team's 25-8 record (.758) represented its best single-season showing since losing in the national championship game in 2015.
