By the numbers: The defining stats of Coach K's illustrious 47-year career

Legendary Duke bench boss Mike Krzyzewski will bid farewell to Cameron Indoor Stadium after Saturday evening's matchup against archrival North Carolina.

Coach K will retire following the 2021-22 campaign after 47 years on the sidelines. For the past four decades, the Chicago native built the Blue Devils into a perennial powerhouse and set a new standard for coaching in the process.

Ninety-six of Krzyzewski's former Duke players are scheduled to attend the special moment in Durham. Before Coach K's final regular-season game, here are some of the defining statistics from his illustrious career:

.766: Coach K's career win percentage over 1561 contests between Army and Duke. The Hall of Famer has the 17th-highest mark among Division I men's basketball head coaches.

3: Kentucky bench boss John Calipari and Krzyzewski hold the joint record for Naismith College Coach of the Year awards.

5: The number of national titles Krzyzewski captured. Only the late John Wooden has more Division I men's basketball championships in his trophy cabinet.

8: The 75-year-old's success extended beyond Duke. Krzyzewski won eight medals on the international stage as Team USA's head coach, including three consecutive Olympic golds.

10: Bobby Hurley is among 10 former Krzyzewski staffers or players who have gone on to become a head coach at the collegiate level.

12: Coach K's 12 Final Four appearances are tied with Wooden for the most all time.

13: Coach K guided the Blue Devils to 13 ACC regular-season championships. This season's title is the program's first finish atop the conference standings outright since 2006.

15: ACC Tournament crowns. He's won the postseason competition more times than every other school in the conference besides North Carolina.
