ACC Player of the Year Wright declares for NBA draft
Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year Moses Wright announced Wednesday that he's leaving Georgia Tech after four seasons to enter the NBA draft.
Wright, 22, enjoyed a standout senior campaign for the Yellow Jackets while also collecting All-ACC first team and ACC All-Defensive team honors for the conference tournament champions.
The 6-foot-9 power forward averaged career bests in points (17.4), rebounds (8.0), assists (2.3), steals (1.5), and blocks (1.6) during his final campaign under Josh Pastner.
"It’s always hard to (make the transition), whether you go from high school to college or college to the NBA, but if anyone is ready to play in the NBA, it's Moses Wright," Pastner told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Ken Sugiura.
Wright missed Georgia Tech's first-round NCAA Tournament defeat to Loyola Chicago due to COVID-19 protocols.
He'll forego his extra year of eligibility the NCAA granted amid 2020 cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic.
